Gluten Free Ground Beef Tacos

About the recipe: For a long time I always used McCormick Gluten Free Taco Seasoning. After my daughter was born however, I had to cut dairy out of my diet because she was allergic and I was breastfeeding. Shortly after that we learned my son also had a dairy allergy, so we are pretty much a dairy free gluten free family now. McCormick seasoning unfortunately contains milk so I went on a search for the best taco seasoning. After much trial and error I ended up creating my own. My husband is a fan of spicy foods so I included the optional red pepper flakes. If you are making this for small children I recommend you leave them out because it can get quite spicy. Top these tacos with anything you like. Some of our favorites are avocado, tomato, lettuce, and onion.

1 lb. ground beef

¼ teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

½ teaspoon oregano

½ teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

½ tablespoon ground cumin

½ tablespoon gluten free flour

½ cup water

Mix all the spices together and set aside. In a medium frying pan over medium heat brown beef. Drain the grease. Sprinkle seasonings over beef. Add water and mix well. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until water is absorbed. Serve with your favorite gluten free tortillas.
