Oven Baked Cinnamon Apples

About the recipe: This recipe was inspired from a one I came across in Cooking Light Cookbook 1989. It’s a perfect treat that you don’t have to feel guilty about. I’ve tweaked it to suit my tastes better and to make it gluten free. This recipe can be made dairy free as well by using dairy free butter instead of the real stuff.

4 Granny Smith apples

2 tablespoons Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Flour Blend

½ teaspoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon allspice

¼ cup pack brown sugar

2 tablespoons butter

1 egg white beaten

¼ cup water

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease an 11x7x2 baking dish.

Peel apples, remove cores, and cut into fourths. In a small bowl mix together flour, sugar, and spices. Cut in butter. Dip apples into egg whites, then coat with flour mixture and place into baking dish. Pour water into dish. Cook for 35-45 minutes until apples are soft.
